Four-Season Growing: Idyllwild Farm

My next (happy) foray into exploring local organic growers is the Idyllwild Farm.  Idyllwild is a small, certified organic market farm on the grounds of the St Anne convent in Melbourne, KY.

You know the St Anne convent, right?  Think, Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman walking down that long tree-lined drive in the movie Rainman.  Oh yes, the St Anne convent.

Idyllwild Farms began in 2009 with a focus on four-season growing.  Neat trick in the Cincinnati metro area, yes?  Idyllwild was USDA certified organic in 2010, and in 2011 they’ve been growing on approximately two certified organic acres.

Guess what?  They’re planting garlic over the weekend.

Tune in.
