Georgia peaches are in the markets, as are locally grown peaches. I have one locally sourced peach tart under my belt this season, and I was again inspired on Sat by big, beautiful Georgia peaches and super-beautiful fresh figs. Found a smooth goat cheese with honey that feels like a wonderful complement. Pastry is made. Peaches will ripen enough to bake in a couple of days.
The peach guy reminded me that the rededication of Washington Park had just occurred. The importance of this park’s renovation is hard to overstate for the continued stabilization and growth of the Over-the-Rhine. In a city where progress in the city core and uptown has had major legislative ebbs, the completion of Washington Park is shining star.
