Not Even Remotely Tired of Taste-Testing

One could spend a lifetime taste-testing Portland and never tire of the experience.

Bertie Lou’s (don’t you love it?) in Sellwood is reminiscent of myriad hang-outs in New Orleans… unassuming, no frills, great coffee, terrific food.  Given the size of the dining room, I think service during busy times could be challenging.  I had the good fortune of eating during an off-hour, so I enjoyed the service and a really wonderful omelet.  Thanks to Jack and Lynn for the invite.

Not 3 hours later my sister and I were sipping wine flights at Noble Rot on E Burnside.  A set of Oregon whites for me, and local pinot noirs for Donna.  We noshed on an onion tart and delectable almonds.  Four floors up with (albeit rainy) rooftop views, it qualified for dinner.

Next stop: a drive down the Oregon coast to Florence.
